Most deserving, Isao is a community institution who has contributed in untold ways to the betterment of California and beyond!

I met Isao through a great friend of mine A. V. Krebs, Jr., a founding member of the Alliance for Democracy that I now co-chair. Affectionately known as "Al," every time he came to visit me here in Davis, he'd visit Isao or Isao would come to my house. Al was a fine researcher and writer on all things agricultural and about the family farm.

in 1992, Al published The Corporate Reapers: The Book on Agribusiness and you can imagine with Isao's background and commitments just what they talked about!
